Salt of the Earth…Not of the Table

Did you know that most people aren’t eating enough salt? Real salt I mean.

If you still use table salt. Stop. Now. Yikes that stuff is toxic! Firstly it’s had its iodine removed which, amongst other things, is essential for thyroid health. It’s been stripped of its beautiful, minerally nutritional value and had anti caking agent added to keep it bone dry. That means when you eat it your body can’t absorb it….so you end up with salty build up in your arteries and tissues….

Sea and rock salt: it’s the business.  Here’s why…

“Salt is not only critical to your life, but it is one of the basic elements of which your body is made. Without salt, you could not exist for a moment”.

Every cell in the human body is dependent on the presence of sodium. We find sodium diffused throughout the fluid between cells. Inside our cells is primarily potassium. These two minerals, sodium and potassium need to be in constant, dynamic balance so the cells can exchange incoming energy with outgoing, depleted energy. Your body is constantly monitoring these minerals and working to maintain their delicate balance.

How it’s good for you:

Strong Immune System – Sea salt is critical for a strong immune system to fight everything from allergies, viruses to autoimmune disorders.

Alkalizing – Sea or rock salt is alkalizing to the body, so it can help you to prevent and reverse high levels of acids in the body, which in turn eliminates the risks for serious and life-threatening diseases.

Weight Loss – It helps the body to create digestive juices so that the foods you eat are digested faster, and more efficiently.

Diabetes – helps to reduce the need for insulin by helping to maintain proper sugar levels in the body. Sea or rock salt is an essential if you are diabetic, or at risk for the disease

Muscle Spasms – Potassium is essential for helping the muscles to function properly so is effective in helping to prevent muscle pains, spasms and cramps

I’m loving my pink Himalayan for when I’m feeling girlie 😇and my Black Sea salt flakes….For when I’m not 😈:)

As with anything, don’t overdo it! But a little sprinkle to season your food is great on a daily basis is perfectly fine and great for your health.
